My #altbreak

Well, Spring Break has come to an end.... But I do have to say that it's been a pretty enjoyable one!

I finished The Hunger Games trilogy! I am so excited about the Hunger Games movie coming out on Thursday night!! The preview looks so amazing! I loved the writing and I love the themes within the book. I'm happy with the ending, however the last book did take a bit of willpower to get through.

Also, I finished The Happiness Project. It was a great book and I really hope to use some of the strategies that the author uses in my own life! I am especially drawn to the parts about exercise, friendships, family, and attitude! I have the book for two more weeks so I'm hoping to mill over some of it a bit more!

I hung out with my friends a lot and we had a ton of fun! My internship was great and I got a lot accomplished! And we took another look at our house for next year and it was even better than I remembered! I am so excited!

Here are a few more things from my week! Enjoy!!

So, Spring Break project! Sort a semesters worth of recycling! We totally failed at setting it out on garbage day and when we did they  wouldn't take it since it wasn't sorted....Thanks for telling us that!
But after a little bit of clean up, we got it all under control!

Well, sort of...We had to store it under our front stairs because it's been so windy that it was flying all over the neighborhood! But at least it's all sorted! But can I tell you how gross it was!! Ewwwww!!
What a horrible picture of Molly and I's beach day! The weather was so nice that we went to Lake Calhoun! Which was still frozen, but it was still beautiful!
I made these! They we awesome!
my roommate broke my glasses... :(
Free sample of Starbucks! Aw yeah!
I really like this photo! Very art-zy

Spring Break: Home Edition

Well, it's officially two days into spring break and thought I'd share a little reflection on Spring Break thus far.

This break, I will just being staying on campus and relaxing! I'm actually super excited about it! I've dubbed it the alternative spring break because even though that's typically a titled reserved for service trips over break, I see it really more applicable for my own situation! Almost no one stays here over break! No one!! Everyone either goes home, travels to warm places or goes on one of those service trips! So I consider my break the TRUE alternative!

I actually have loved staying here thus far, but it's been a bit lonely! So far, I've read The Hunger Games and it was AMAZING! Which is good, because I had already bought tickets for the movie. I'm currently on the second book, Catching Fire, but it's a little hard to get into because I'm reading The Happiness Project simultaneously and well, it's kind of like choosing between death and happiness! Which would you choose? Yes, I know the books are awesome, but at this moment, I can settle for some happiness!
Good book!
So far, I've been enjoying the BEAUTIFUL weather here in Minneapolis! It's gorgeous! I love it! And this morning, I decided to make some pancakes, which were delicious! Also, I ate a pear, which is one of my favorite fruits! I've been craving fruit lately and it was just the fix I needed! Below are some pictures!

Me, sitting outside, taking awkward pictures of myself.

Yum!

Anyways, have a happy Spring Break!

Cheers,
Regan
